Dedicated to the memory of Andrew Garnham

This site is a tribute to Andrew Garnham - a wonderful father, husband and friend. He was the strongest, funniest and most caring person many of us had the pleasure of knowing and was a true inspiration to us all.

His work ethic throughout his life was unparalleled. He started at Clays as an apprentice, worked his way through the print industry in his 20s and early 30s where he worked for several companies in offices across the world - such as Xenetron, PPS and Blue Data - before landing his first major role at Creo as Regional Business Manager in 1994. Here he helped grow business sales and was promoted to Regional Director before leaving in 2001 to begin at his co-founded business: Gap Systems. He worked here for 8 years and had some great success. He worked for a few companies between 2009 and 2018: Kodak, Esko and Pas Media. He ended his incredible career working for MasterControl, where he excelled and secured many deals. This led on to him winning the award for number three salesperson in the world for 2019.

He always put in 150% to any job. He worked until the early hours of the morning to ensure everything was in place for a meeting or a deal; he would drive to Switzerland or Belgium in the morning for a meeting and drive back that night; when everyone else was watching tv in the evening, he would still be working away on his laptop or replying to emails on his phone. To him it wasn't just a job; it was his hobby and his passion as well. In fact, whenever anyone asked him what his job was he would often be there for an hour explaining every last detail because he was that passionate about it (we never did really know exactly what he did because of this - we didn't want to ask a second time!) He made some lifelong friends whom he met at various companies he worked for, many of which would describe him as a brilliant and funny man who was a real character. Many of his managers over the years may describe him as 'challenging' - I'm sure those that knew him well enough can understand why...

He gave many valuable lessons to his two children (Alex and Chloe) as they grew up and became adults: giving advice on interviews for our first jobs; tips on how to win customers and deals; and passing on his many mischievous tricks and jokes. A lot of us knew Andrew at different times of his life, but his love of making people laugh never changed and that's just one of the reasons why we loved him so much. His wife (Natalie) was often the target of his practical jokes, much to her disappointment, but she wouldn't have changed him for the world. He was a generous man and always went above and beyond for those he loved. He made sure that the three of us had everything we could have wanted in life.

He will be missed greatly, but the joy, courage and wisdom he shared with each of us while he was here I'm sure will be carried with us forever.

Happy Birthday Andrew. We can’t believe you’re not here to celebrate it. Time has passed but it still doesn’t feel real or possible that you could be gone. Remembering healthier and happier times on this day. Listening to Tull for you, and thinking of your incredible family and how they’re coping today without you. Love Freya xxx

What a great chap and amazing gentleman you were Andrew... We all met around 20 years ago, when our lovely girls started at the local nursery together. We soon become good friends, frequently meeting up for drinks and chats. As the girls got older and became much closer our friendship continued to grow and so did the many memories we all made together, from hilarious fancy dress parties to all of the wonderful days spent with you all at the beach hut in Walberswick. A memory that will stick with us all is the not so sunny August bank holiday weekend of 2011 spent at the beach hut, we were all wearing jumpers and coats but the children still went in the sea with the kayaks. Later on that day, when they had all decided to go crabbing, the heavens opened and the chrildren rushed back looking like drowned rats whilst laughing at the typical British weather! We all have so many more wonderful memories of you which certainly won't be forgotten. It’s such a pleasure to have known you, thank you for the memories that we made together. Lots of love, The Potters x

Andrew was so much more than an uncle to me. Throughout my childhood he was a father figure to me, the Garnham’s was a second home where I keep hold of so many fond memories of fun times and mischief. In my early teens I spent a lot of time with Andrew, he shared his music library with me and taught me a little guitar, we managed to learn Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd together. These precious times together formed the basis of the music I enjoy today, which is such a huge part of my life and identity. The greatest gift my uncle Andrew ever gave to me and the sort of thing I was lacking from my own father. I am so proud of all he’s experienced and achieved in his lifetime, and I’ve always been especially proud to call him my uncle. There is nobody quite like Andrew and his uniquely shocking sense of humour. I was lucky enough to spend many hours with him post-diagnosis, the final time being the best of them all just by chance. He was feeling well enough to be in conversation with me for 6 hours, we talked about everything and anything and shared memories, laughs and tears, We watched some live music by Steely Dan, Yes and my other half’s band Guranfoe who Andrew was a proud fan of. He is going to be so missed, family time will never be the same without his huge personality being the life and soul of the party.
